Raised in a radio family, Loyd Van Horn has been an avid AM and FM DXer for nearly 30 years.  He began DXing shortwave at the age of 7, but it wasn't until he heard 1120 KMOX - St. Louis, MO on his bedside clock radio at the age of 13 that the DX bug bit him hard.

He also worked for Clear Channel-Asheville in their six-station cluster as an account executive and assistant programming director.
